A New Season…

As many of you are aware, I’ve been spending my summers working for iD Tech Camps at ASU, UC-Irvine, and most recently Princeton. It’s been a beautiful fit with freelancing during the Fall/Winter/Spring. As of December 1st, I took a full-time position with iD Tech Camps. Now the job that I loved in the summer is my year-round gig.

As a company, we’ve scaled down our services pretty dramatically. Ricky will be focusing on his new role at iD and Elizabeth will be maintaining some of our current clients. For new projects, please contact us and we can let you know a reasonable time frame, if we’re able to handle it. We are limited in our additional time though.

New Bound4Life Personas Skin for Firefox by Splat

Everyone should add on the Personas function to your Firefox browser…and then go to “Causes” and select this cool little skin designed for Bound4Life…using the images from their site. All the cool kids named Ricky are doing it. (And 4 other people in a number of days!)

I was looking at our homepage today (www.splatcreative.net) and trying to think of another way to display that we are “FULL-service”. Between myself, Elizabeth, and a couple soon to be announced additions to the Splat Family…we can pull off just about anything. And it isn’t really “pulling it off”. We’re not wearing white shoes in October…that’s “pulling something off.”

So, here’s the creative process for me. I must say…I didn’t end up changing anything yet, BUT this is where the ideas come from (scary, I know.) Click for more…

spring is in the air?

okay, so we don’t really have a winter in phoenix…so, we just go from fall to spring. I’ve decided the official date for this is today…b/c I had to make a spring-ish image for freedomgate.org. I feel bad a little bit, b/c I drew my inspiration from all the twitter birds I see out there. But, I actually drew it myself…but, it does look like other birds. The birds been drawn 8 ba-jillion times, so I don’t feel bad…I think.

Polka Dot Moon

We are super excited about working with our new pal Kim Fisher (no, not the one from Memphis). Kim owns an accoutrements emporium in Gilbert, AZ called Polka Dot Moon. If you’d like a moment to look those words up…go ahead…but we’ll go ahead and tell you what that means: “freakin’ cool invitations and gifts”. She’s got this neat place where you can make all kinds of custom invitations and stationary for every event you could ever imagine.

So, we’re working on a design package for her that includes a fresh logo, new ads and eventually a new site. Here’s her super sweet logo:

Seriously, go check out her shop! It’s right by Dana Park…close to everything. I will warn you though…you will end up throwing parties just so you can use her invitations. You think I’m kidding…but I’m not!
